recap: moving and trying to get rid of the stuff that I no longer need. Each week I am taking at least 10 items to Goodwill where they in turn resale and the profits assist in helping those with barriers find employment. Seriously, if you live in Middle TN or anywhere there is a Goodwill – consider donating – you get a handy dandy tax reciept and you give back to your community. I consider that a win no matter how you look at it.
1. Empty Picture Frame – put away to use for something – now someone else can use it for an actual picture.
2. Candle Holder – How many of these have I actually had? sheesh
3. Basket – I have tons that I don’t use
3. Non Starbucks to go cup – it’s not the bux – so I probably won’t use it
4. Tea cup set – cause I am trying to not play tea party as much any more
5. Blender – very rarely is it actually used and not enough to keep. Will save up for a vitamix anyway
6. Airpoper – I pop mine in the microwave anyway
7. Reed Difuser – I hated the scent, it was a gift
8. Hair Dryer – cause I already have one – this is a spare which means of course mine will prob break soon – but I rarely use it anyway
9. Platter
10. Sheet sets – wrong size for what I have now.
To assist in my move and cut down on some clutter, I am going to weekly attempt to clear some of the “stuff” in my home. Until the end of November I am taking at least 10 items to Goodwill weekly.
Sunday I took.
- A Treasury of Friendship – Thomas Kincaid gifty book – Taking up valuable space on my bookshelf
- Candle Warmer from Michaels last year – never worked the way I wanted it to
- Jeans – really? WAAAAAAAY too big. can I get a Whoot?
- Jeans – really? waaaaaay small… tired of being reminded , but when I get there I’m going to go back and get them..ha!
- Christmas Frame – unless it’s of my niece, I don’t use holiday frames
- Address Book – Never used
- Keyboard – odd computer part laying around
- Shoes – chunky heels I never loved
- Scrapbook tote – purchased at goodwill – it went home…
- Weird candle Holder thing – never used, just had to keep dusting it.
Next week I will try to remember to get a pic of what all I take. The drop off was super quick AND you can get tax receipt’s. In fact Goodwill makes it easy to figure out the monetary value of your donation as well, their website can help with suggested values for different items.
So maybe before you get all cozy and tucked away for winter you can get rid of your clutter and make your space a little more relaxing…just sayin.
