Have you ever bought a new cd and while listening to it the next day realized that you “may” have the cd already… yea me either. ha.

We have all probably heard this song already but I still like it. And the video is super sweet.

I have loved this group since the movie “Once” I think I am able to watch the movie every time it’s on. Just totally sucks me in. Video gets a little odd, but the harmony is beautiful.

How much I love them… enjoy.

So… Yea Life is pretty good right now. I’m in the right frame of mind which is always a win. My birthday is getting closer and closer and for some reason I’m super excited this year. It’s so funny how your expectations of the day changes though. This year I just want quality time with people. I want to be surrounded by those I love and enjoy.

I am working out at dawn with my Friend “Finn” like 4am dawn…ugh. But it’s nice to get to see her regularly. I don’t want her to sale her house…ever… yea. We kinda get each other and had once of those nice 5 minute deep conversations the other day. You know the one where you go there, without going there. ya. I thought so.

I’m in a music mood lately. It’s nice, the tv doesn’t even get turned on, instead I just play the radio, my ipod or various cd’s. But it reminds me that I still have music missing from the great cd theft of 2005. I know it’s 5 years later… but man I had a lot of music. Okay, I had a lot of bad music, I don’t have the best taste for some people. But I claim my dorkyness. It’s okay… I admit it.

Not bad music is this woman. I like her quirk and her voice.

After the show, Nashville at night

Friday night Deidre treated me to her last Broadway season show “A Chorus Line”. I was beyond excited to see it and we made an evening of the event.

Growing up I wore out a copy of Chorus Line from our local video rental store…a store that only carried vhs and was a throw back to days of old, but that’s another blog. I wanted to grow up and be Cassie and stand on the line. This is a good moment to point out that I have two left feet, don’t dance, and have the grace of a frog. But, dreams are dreams and little girls are unstoppable in the area of daydreams.

The show is presented in one act without an intermission. It’s a simple premise that works year after year and time after time. The show is a an audition, the cast of 16 stands on the line and in song and dance tell stories about themselves. You find yourself rooting for everyone to get in, knowing that only half will indeed win a spot in the chorus. Zak, the director and man in charge is a foreboding presence sitting in the audience as would happen during an actual casting call. Cassie and Zak have a “history” and as she pleads for a chance in the chorus you get glimpses into the familiarity they once shared.

The show was really well done, set in 1975 and the dancing and costumes reflect that. All kinds of retro coolness contained. Highlight for the night for me: Deidre getting a pic with one of the cast members, this guy played Mark.

De cheesin

Seeing these guys tonight….

Before seeing this group… sigh…. I’m a lucky lucky girl.

I love both these guys music… that may not be grammatically correct. oh well, you know’s what I mean.

Something a little more on the light side for your Monday enjoyment.

I love this song and artist. Thought I would share with you. I’m so ready for Adele’s new album.

Weekend past was amazingly busy and didn’t really stop. I love weekends like that. Here are a few of the highlights.

  • Met with a friend I made on the womens retreat for coffee and knitting
  • Learned how to knit! well kinda, I’m making an incredible dish cloth
  • Ran around with my friend Laura and tried a new restaurant
  • Watched the last performance of Rent (netflix’d)  and cried cause I’m a sap about that show
  • Cooked for my Sunday School potluck and enjoyed an evening with peeps from church
  • Wrote and finished a few new chapters
  • Went to a womens self defense class and afterwards went out with friends for a drink
  • Made a cute new wreath for my front door
  • Attended a raw food cooking demo – was very informative

I know there was more, but those were a few of the high points.  Oh and I’m as usual dreadfully behind on laundry, but eh it happens. It’s already tuesday, but how was your weekend? Do anything fun?

I always feel reflective at the end of the year, what I should have/ could have/ ment to do… but I am also in love with a new year and new attitude. Just think, a new year will start and there will be another chance to do better, be better, accomplish more.

I’m not setting new years resolutions – I break those. Instead I’m surrounding myself with amazing people. I have “Finn” for working out and keeping me honest. Rach for writting and creatively challenging me Donita for pushing me in business and finances. And there are others whose roles are yet to be defined. 2010 is going to be amazing.

Only Christopher Walken can get away with this. Hope you enjoy.
